I crafted this stick from sustainably sourced Ash wood—grown right in my own garden. Shaped it by hand, allowing the natural curves, twists, and character of the wood to shine through. I left visible knots in place to celebrate that authentic, handmade feel. The handle features organically carved prongs, giving you multiple comfortable grip options for relaxed walks or light support.

African-Inspired Design

What truly sets this Colourful Walking Stick apart is its bold, joyful artwork. I hand-painted it using rich acrylics, then layered in fine acrylic marker details to build depth and energy. Inspired by traditional African colour palettes, vibrant yellows, warm oranges, deep blues, and purples move together in a lively rhythm. Wherever you place it—on a walk or on your wall—it carries colour, story, and presence.

I finished this piece with multiple layers of durable, outdoor-grade varnish, including UV protection, to help protect it from the elements. At the base, I added a rubber ferrule (protective tip) to improve grip and reduce slipping on a variety of surfaces.

While this piece can be used as a walking aid, I created it primarily as a functional art piece. It offers light balance support, but due to its natural curves and unique carving, I cannot guarantee suitability for all users or full weight-bearing. Please use your own judgement, apply only comfortable pressure, and discontinue use if unsure. If in doubt, it works beautifully as a display artwork.
